The EURO iSTOXX 50 ESG NR Decrement 4% Index replicates the performance of the net return version of the EURO STOXX 50 ESG Index assuming a constant 4% performance deduction per annum. The performance deduction accrues constantly on a daily basis (using an Actual/365 Fixed day count convention). Consequently, due to the percentage of performance deduction, the EURO iSTOXX 50 ESG NR Decrement 4% Index underperforms the EURO STOXX 50 ESG Net Return Index.

The objective of the STOXX Willis Tower Watson World Climate Transition Index is to align a broad based equity index, from a valuation and financial perspective, with a global economic transition that would limit greenhouse gas concentrations to levels consistent with United Nations objectives for global temperature rises. The index relies on Climate Transition Value at Risk (CTVaR) metrics from Willis Towers Watson, and incorporates screens for Global Standards Screening, Controversial Weapons, Thermal Coal and Oil Sands.

The STOXX Europe ESG Social Leaders Diversification Select 30 EUR Index captures the performance of European stocks with low correlation, low volatility and high dividends from the STOXX Global ESG Social Leaders Index.

The component selection process first excludes all stocks with the highest 12-month average correlation with all other stocks in the benchmark, then excludes stocks whose 3- or 12-month historical volatilities are the highest. Among the remaining stocks, the 30 stocks with the highest 12-month historical dividend yields are selected to be included in the index. The percentage of exclusion/inclusion at each step is the same.

Those constituents are weighted according to the inverse of their volatility, with a cap at 10%. The indices are reviewed quarterly.

The iSTOXX US Family Owned ESG Company index tracks the performance of the largest US stocks that are classified as family-owned by the Centre of Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO). Companies that are non-compliant based on the ISS-ESG Norms Based Screening assessment or are involved in Controversial Weapons are not eligible for selection. Additional exclusion filters are applied, screening companies for involvement in Tobacco, Thermal Coal, Gambling, Pornography, Civilian Firearms, and Military Contracting. Companies that measure their environmental risk are better equipped to mitigate those risks. Those that are transparent about it and disclose this information provide critical insights to change market behavior. The STOXX Reported Low Carbon Indices cover only stocks with available reported carbon intensity data from companies, which are publicly committed to disclose their carbon emissions. These indices cover the regions Global, Europe, Eurozone and the USA. The indices have a variable number of components, and are price weighted with a weight factor based on the free-float market cap multiplied by the corresponding Z-score carbon intensity factor of each constituent. Components with lower carbon intensities are overweighted, while those with higher carbon emission are underweighted. The indices also exlcude companies violating international norms, are involved with controversial weapons, tobacco, thermal coal, civilian firearms, military equipment, and unconventional oil and gas.

STOXX uses  ISS ESG as reliable and professional data sources for the estimated and reported data. Data considered comprise Scope 1 (All direct GHG emissions) and Scope 2 (Indirect GHG emissions from consumption of purchased electricity, heat or steam) emissions.
