To understand the complex interplay of climate and nature, and minimize the risk of irreparable damage, a holistic approach is needed. The Planetary Boundaries Framework (PBF) is a valid framework at a global scale to conceptualize the ecological limits to preserve Earth’s viability. However, it is not translatable to the single-business level.
In this Perspectives report, we look at alternative indicators that can diagnose a company’s position toward certain processes that regulate Earth’s systems. We then run the STOXX® Europe 600 index through some of those metrics to better understand the standing of European companies on such aspects.
