STOXX^® Bund/SV Global Ex Eurozone CTB

The STOXX Bund/SV Global Ex Eurozone CTB and STOXX Bund/SV Eurozone CTB indices track the performance of at most 150 components that are selected from a pool of companies that are classed as leaders with regard to Environmental, Social and Governance criteria. The indices are constructed to follow the EU Climate Transition Benchmark (“EU CTB”) requirements outlined in the COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2020/1818 of 17 July 2020 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1011 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards minimum standards for EU Climate Transition Benchmarks and EU Paris-aligned Benchmarks (in the following “EU Climate Benchmarks Regulation”) including but not limited to Article 12 (1) points (a) (b) and (c) and (2) of the EU Climate Benchmark Regulation. The indices are designed to help investors align investments in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The ISS STOXX Net Zero Transition Indices track the performance of securities from a selection of STOXX Benchmark Indices. These indices have the aim of helping investors to incentivize companies to transition and align with the International Energy Agencys Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario (IEA NZE Scenario) Pathway with the objective of achieving the target alignment to the 2050 carbon budget by 2040. The key features of these indices include the emphasis on real-world decarbonization by targeting key high impact sectors, and the forward-looking view on climate performance to encourage climate leadership and allow for engagement. Companies that are non-compliant based on the ISS ESG Norms Based Screening assessment or are involved in Controversial Weapons are not eligible for selection. Additional exclusion filters are applied, screening companies for involvement in Tobacco, Thermal Coal, Unconventional Oil & Gas, Civilian Firearms, and Military Contracting. The exclusion criteria include a thermal coal phase-out for developed countries by 2030 and for emerging countries by 2040.

The STOXX Paris-Aligned Benchmark Fixed Income Indices are based on respective ICE BofA Fixed Income Indices. The indices are constructed to follow the EU Paris-aligned Benchmark (EU PAB) requirements outlined in the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1818 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1011 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards minimum standards for EU Paris-aligned Benchmarks.

Companies identified as non-compliant based on ISS Sustainability Norms-Based Screening and involved in controversial weapons are not eligible for selection. Tobacco producers, as identified by ISS Sustainability, are also not eligible. Issuers that generate revenues above a certain threshold from coal, oil and gas production, exploration distribution and services activities are excluded. Additionally, issuers that derive more than 10% of their revenues from thermal coal-based power generation, or more than 50% from power generation with carbon intensity of lifecycle emissions higher than 100gCO2e/kWh are not considered for selection. Furthermore, STOXX will exclude companies that ISS ESG assesses to have significant obstruction to the UN SDGs 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action), 14 (Life Below Water) & 15 (Life on Land)

The weighting process follows an optimization process. The STOXX Paris-Aligned Benchmark Indices aim to reduce their greenhouse gas intensity by at least 50% when compared to their underlying benchmarks. They are also designed to meet the year on year 7% decarbonization target.

The indices also overweight securities with Science Based Targets, as verified by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). The green to brown revenue ratio of the Paris-Aligned Benchmark indices is at least 4 times that of the parent.
