STOXX wins 2025 Index Provider of the Year award from ETF Stream

STOXX has been named Index Provider of the Year at the ETF Stream 2025 Awards.

The publication presented the prize to STOXX during an event held in London last night.

STOXX, whose indices helped establish Europe’s first ETFs 25 years ago, was considered for its customization capabilities, data offerings and speed-to-market in working with ETF issuers. The award comes in a year marked by multi-year-high inflows into European equity ETFs and a series of innovative launches from STOXX.

About 44% of the EUR 52.5 billion that flowed into European equities ETFs so far in 2025 went to funds tracking STOXX and DAX indices.[1] Assets under management in all STOXX- and DAX-linked European equity ETFs grew 47% to EUR 144 billion from the end of 2024 through October, outpacing the broader industry. A total of EUR 23.3 billion in net flows in the period was driven by funds tracking the popular EURO STOXX 50®, STOXX® Europe 600, DAX® and MDAX® benchmarks.

“We are honored and grateful to ETF Stream for this recognition,” said Axel Lomholt, General Manager at STOXX. “2025 has been an exceptional year for European stocks, and we are proud to have collaborated with our partners to bring forward new solutions for an increasingly sophisticated community of investors.”

This year, STOXX provided the underlying index for new ETFs covering multifactor and options-based strategies, as well as four funds targeting the theme of European defense. The company now offers more than 18,000 strictly rules-based indices, licensed to more than 550 companies around the world.

ETF of the Year

Separately, Amundi won the ETF of the Year award for the Amundi EURO STOXX Banks UCITS ETF. The underlying EURO STOXX® Banks index has jumped 68%[2] in 2025, pacing gains in the broader market.

Two judging panels of 18 external experts from across the European ETF industry and buyside voted to choose winners in 24 categories.
