Index Description

The STOXX Developed World Defense Capped Index is designed to capture the performance of companies classified in the Defense subsector, according to the ICB Classification. Companies that are involved in anti-personnel mines, biological weapons, chemical weapons and cluster munitions activities as identified by ISS ESG, are not eligible.

  • Index selection is based on Aerospace and Defense ICB sub sector
  • The index is free-float market-capitalization weighted with 10% capping.
  • Intra quarter capping is triggered if largest company exceeds 35% or second largest exceeds 20% weight.
  • The review is conducted quarterly in March, June, September and December.

- Country Classification: Non-signatory countries to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)
- ICB Subsector Classification: Defense (50201020)
- Controversial Weapons involvement: anti-personnel mines, biological weapons, chemical weapons and cluster munitions

All securities in the universe that passed the selection screenings are selected for final index composition.
