Index Description

The iSTOXX USA Megatrends ESG 30 Index tracks companies that are exposed to a defined set of megatrends in the USA. The index constituents are linked to one or more of the following themes: Digitalization and Robotics Infrastructure and Ecological Transition Well-being and Demographic Transformation. Revere (RBICS) data allow a detailed breakdown of the revenue sources of the eligible companies helping this index to select companies with substantial exposure to the respective themes. Additionally companies involved in Unconventional Oil ; Gas (Arctic Oil and Gas Exploration Oil Sands and Shale Energy) and Thermal Coal are not eligible for selection. The final index components are determined based on their ranks of ESG Risk Rating scores calculated by Sustainalytics and free-float market capitalization. This index applies screens in alignment with the ESMA guidelines on funds’ names using ESG or sustainability-related terms, which include controversial weapons, Tobacco, Coal (>1%), Oil fuels (>10%), Gaseous fuels (>50%/ Power generation), UNGC principles / OECD guidelines.Per the ESMA guidelines on funds’ names using ESG or sustainability-related terms, this index meets an 80% threshold linked to the proportion of investments used to meet environmental or social characteristic or sustainable investment objectives in accordance with the binding elements of the investment strategy.
