iSTOXX^® US ESG 100

The ISS STOXX World AC Biodiversity Leaders selects companies that have revenues aligned to biodiversity and environmental UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) objectives after a set of compliance, ESG involvement screens, biodiversity screens, and overall SDG positive contribution assessment are applied. Companies that are non-compliant based on the ISS ESG Norms Based Screening assessment or are involved in Controversial Weapons are not eligible for selection. Additional exclusion filters are applied, screening companies for involvement in Palm Oil, GMO Agriculture, Hazardous Pesticides, Animal Welfare, Fur Involvement, Tobacco, Thermal Coal, Unconventional Oil & Gas, Civilian Firearms, and Military Contracting. Furthermore, only companies in the top 80% rank of Potentially Disappeared Fraction of species over Enterprise Value including Cash (PDF/EVIC) scores based on ISS ESG Biodiversity Impact Assessment Tool (BIAT) within each ICB Sector of the universe are selected. Finally, only companies that have biodiversity-related revenues from products/services and an overall positive contribution to UN SDGs greater than or equal to 2 according to ISS ESG SDG Solutions Assessment would be eligible for the index.

The STOXX Benchmark ESG-X ex Nuclear Power Indices are based on a selection of STOXX Benchmark ESG-X Indices and apply additional Nuclear Power screens. The screens are based on the responsible policies of leading asset owners and aim to reduce reputational and idiosyncratic risks.  

STOXX will exclude companies that Sustainalytics considers to be non-compliant with the Global Compact Principles, are involved in Controversial Weapons, Nuclear Power, are Tobacco Producers, or that either derive revenues from Thermal Coal extraction or exploration, or have power generation capacity that utilizes Thermal Coal.

STOXX Benchmark ESG-X ex Nuclear Power Indices are suitable as underlying indices for mandates, passive funds, ETFs, structured products and listed derivatives, with the ambition to increase liquidity and lower the cost of trading.

Derived from the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index, the EURO STOXX ESG Leaders 50 Index covers the 50 largest stocks from 11 Eurozone countries: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. The index is designed to serve as a highly liquid underlying for financial products.

The STOXX Global ESG Leaders index provides access to the leading global companies in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria, using a bottom-up selection approach based on ESG scores provided by Sustainalytics. Companies that are non-compliant based on the Sustainalytics’ Global Standards Screening assessment or are involved in controversial weapons are not eligible for selection. Additional exclusion filters are applied, screening companies for involvement in tobacco production and distribution, thermal coal extraction and power generation, small arms manufacturing, military contracting, unconventional oil and gas exploration and production, and ESG Controversies.

The iSTOXX® Global ESG Select 100 Index uses the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index as an underlying. The index consists of three subindices which roll into the STOXX Global ESG Leaders index. The three subindices are: STOXX® Global ESG Environment Leaders, STOXX® Global ESG Social Leaders and STOXX® Global ESG Governance Leaders Indices.

The STOXX Global ESG Leaders index provides access to the leading global companies in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria, using a bottom-up selection approach based on ESG scores provided by Sustainalytics. Companies that are non-compliant based on the Sustainalytics’ Global Standards Screening assessment or are involved in controversial weapons are not eligible for selection. Additional exclusion filters are applied, screening companies for involvement in tobacco production and distribution, thermal coal extraction and power generation, small arms manufacturing, military contracting, unconventional oil and gas exploration and production, and ESG Controversies.

Using this ESG index as an underlying, stocks with the lowest volatility and the highest dividends are selected.
