iSTOXX EMU Transition

Index Description

The iSTOXX EMU Transition Index tracks the performance of companies from the STOXX Developed Eurozone Universal All Cap Index that demonstrate meaningful exposure to climate transition activities. The index selects securities that derive at least 10% of their revenues from activities aligned with, or assessed to be aligned with, the EU Taxonomy criteria for climate change mitigation. Companies classified under Financials (ICB Industry 30) and Media (ICB Supersector 4030) are excluded, as well as those in specific sub-sectors including Casino and Gambling (40501020), Recreational Services (40501030) and Transaction Processing Services (50205015). In addition, securities listed as savings shares are not eligible, and only companies meeting the minimum 10% EU Taxonomy-aligned revenue threshold, based on reported or modelled data, are included in the index. The resulting composition provides targeted exposure to Eurozone companies contributing to the transition towards a low-carbon economy, while maintaining broad market representation through free-float market capitalization weighting without capping constraints

Key facts

  • The index targets Eurozone companies with meaningful climate transition exposure, selecting constituents that generate at least 10% of revenues aligned or expected to be aligned with EU Taxonomy criteria for climate change mitigation, based on ISS Sustainability data.
  • A clearly defined screening framework shapes the eligible universe, combining a EUR 200m minimum free-float market capitalization threshold with targeted sector exclusions (Financials, Media and selected sub-sectors such as Casino & Gambling, Recreational Services and Transaction Processing Services) and the removal of securities that are listed as “savings shares”.
  • The index delivers broad, uncapped exposure to transition-relevant companies in the Eurozone, weighting constituents by free-float market capitalization and maintaining diversification across the STOXX Developed Eurozone Universal All Cap universe.
