The STOXX ESG-X Select Dividend indices are derived from the STOXX ESG-X indices and select stocks which represent the highest-yielding stocks relative to their home markets in the respective benchmark index. The STOXX ESG-X Index Family applies standardized ESG exclusion screens for Norms-based screening, Controversial Weapons, Thermal Coal and Tobacco Producers, with the aim of taking responsible investment criteria into account.

This index applies screens in alignment with the ESMA guidelines on funds’ names using ESG or sustainability-related terms, which include controversial weapons, Tobacco, Coal (>1%), Oil fuels (>10%), Gaseous fuels (>50%/ Power generation), UNGC principles / OECD guidelines.Per the ESMA guidelines on funds’ names using ESG or sustainability-related terms, this index meets an 80% threshold linked to the proportion of investments used to meet environmental or social characteristic or sustainable investment objectives in accordance with the binding elements of the investment strategy.

The iSTOXX Australia 150 BDFG ESG Index components will have the components of the parent STOXX Australia 150 Index as of the review effective date excluding the stocks in the BDF Gestion exclusion lists. These are companies that do not meet BDF Gestion’s ESG and climate criteria. The exclusion lists will be provided to STOXX on the Wednesday before the second Friday of April and October.

STOXX single and multi-factor indices aim to harvest the risk premia of several academically validated style factors – Value, Momentum, Quality, Size and Low Risk. At the same time the rules ensure tradability and diversification as well as limit untargeted systematic exposures.

STOXX uses Axioma's risk model and optimizer to construct the factor indices. The STOXX ESG-X single and multi-factor indices are based on the respective STOXX ESG-X country or regional benchmark indices.
