Summary
Deutsche Börse calculates sector indices for the Prime Standard segmentas well as for a larger representative portfolio comprising allcompanies listed in Prime Standard, General Standard and Entry Standard.Foreach, the Prime segment as well as the larger portfolio, 18 sectorindices and 63 subsector indices are provided. In addition ninesupersector indices are calculated for the Prime segment. Sector andsubsector indices are designed as All Share indices, whereas onlycompanies with an average daily trading volume of at least €1 millionqualify for the supersector indices. The various Prime sectors areconsistent with the historical index data of the CDAX® sectors. In theappendix a table shows the different supersectors, sectors andsubsectors.The classification of companies into the respective classicor technology sectors is done on the basis of the defined industrygroups.Sector assignment is dependent upon a company’s primarysales focus. Where, in individual cases, a shift in such sales focus hasoccurred, the respective company can be removed from its present sectorand included in another one on the next chaining date.
