Risks and opportunities in a less regulated market segmentDeutsche Börse calculates an All Share Index in addition to the selection index, Entry Standard, containing all companies in this segment of the open market. Calculation of the Entry All Share index began when the number of companies listed in the Entry Standard on Xetra exceeded 30. The Entry Standard provides companies with flexible and cost-effective access to the capital market with low regulatory requirements. It is primarily designed for qualified investors who are able to assess opportunities and risks in a less regulated market segment.

The index covers 50 stocks from 8 Eurozone countries: Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. The EURO STOXX 50 Index is licensed to financial institutions to serve as an underlying for a wide range of investment products such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs), futures, options and structured products worldwide.

The following single-country sub-indices are derived from the EURO STOXX 50 Index: EURO STOXX 50 Subindex France, EURO STOXX 50 Subindex Germany, EURO STOXX 50 Subindex Italy, EURO STOXX 50 Subindex Netherlands and EURO STOXX 50 Subindex Spain. Each one covers EURO STOXX 50 components from the indicated country.

DAX® tracks the performance of the 40 largest companies listed on the Regulated Market of Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (FWB®, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange) that fulfil certain minimum quality and profitability requirements. Constituent selection is based on free-float market capitalization. Until September 20, 2021, the number of DAX components was 30.

The basic criteria for including companies in DAX are: an existing listing on the Regulated Market of the FWB (Frankfurt Stock Exchange), continuous trading on Xetra®, minimum free float of 10%, legal headquarters or operating headquarters in Germany, timely publication of audited Annual Financial Report, half-yearly Financial Reports and Quarterly Statements.

Deutsche Börse Group has been calculating DAX since July 1, 1988. In September 2019, STOXX Ltd. started administering DAX.

MDAX® focuses on midcap companies by tracking the performance of the 50 stocks which follow DAX® companies in terms of size or that are not eligible for DAX inclusion because they don’t fulfil its profitability requirement and that fulfil minimum quality requirements. The selection of index components is based on free float market capitalization. The index weighting of an individual share is capped at 15%.

The basic criteria for including companies in MDAX are: an existing listing on the Regulated Market of the FWB® Frankfurt Stock Exchange, continuous trading on Xetra®, minimum free float of 10%, legal headquarters or operating headquarters in Germany, timely publication of audited Annual Financial Report, half-yearly Financial Reports and Quarterly Statements.

The number of holdings was decreased from 60 to 50 on September 20, 2021.
