Companies that manufacture products for end consumers – such as cars, textiles, home furnishings or foodstuffs.Investment access to liquid sectors Deutsche Börse calculates sector indices for the Prime Segment and for an extended representative portfolio comprising all companies listed in the Prime, General and Entry Standard. Sector indices distinguish between listed companies and track the performance of individual sectors. The advantages: Investors can make more targeted investment decisions, while companies benefit from having their respective peer group tracked.With the DAX® supersector, Deutsche Börse has aggregated a total of 18 sectors in nine big new supersectors. These include the most liquid companies on the Prime Standard from Utilities, Telecommunications, Financials, Industrials, Information Technology, Pharma & Healthcare, Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services with a daily exchange turnover of at least €1 million. Sector allocation is based on the companies’ respective sales focus. In the event that this focus changes, the company in question can be removed from one sector and included in another at the next chaining date.
