A key evolution to watch within thematic strategies is not just their increasing sophistication but their growing presence within mainstream investment portfolios, according to Arun Singhal, managing director and global head of product management at STOXX.

The ISS STOXX Biodiversity Index Suite, launched this week, aims to take a more holistic approach to biodiversity than existing market offerings, Antonio Celeste, Director for Sustainability Product Management at index, analytics and risk solutions provider Qontigo, told ESG Investor.

BlackRock has launched a new ETF (exchange traded fund), giving European clients targeted exposure to a wide variety of companies active in developing metaverse technologies. The iShares Metaverse UCITS ETF [MTAV] will track the STOXX Global Metaverse Index.

STOXX hopes to see derivatives of its thematic ESG “Global Cities of Tomorrow Select 30″ index” listed on sister company Eurex’s exchange.
