EURO STOXX^® Small ESG-X

Derived from the STOXX Global ESG Leaders index, the STOXX North America ESG Leaders 50 index covers the 50 largest stocks from Canada and the United States of America. The index is designed to serve as a highly liquid underlying for financial products.

The STOXX Global ESG Leaders index provides access to the leading global companies in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria, using a bottom-up selection approach based on ESG Risk Ratings provided by Sustainalytics. The index is made of the following three ESG sub-indices: the STOXX Global ESG Environmental Leaders, the STOXX Global ESG Social Leaders and the STOXX Global ESG Governance Leaders indices.

Companies that are non-compliant based on the Sustainalytics’ Global Standards Screening assessment or are involved in controversial weapons are not eligible for selection. Additional exclusion filters are applied, screening companies for involvement in tobacco production and distribution, thermal coal extraction and power generation, small arms manufacturing, military contracting, unconventional oil and gas exploration and production, and ESG Controversies.

The STOXX Europe ESG Leaders Diversification Select 30 EUR Index captures the performance of stocks with low correlation, low volatility and high dividends from the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index.

The component selection process first excludes all stocks with the highest 12-months average correlation with all other stocks of the benchmark, then excludes stocks whose 3- or 12-month historical volatilities are the highest. Among the remaining stocks, the 30 stocks with the highest 12-month historical dividend yields are selected to be included in the index. The percentage of exclusion/inclusion at each step is the same.

Those constituents are weighted according to the inverse of their volatility, with a cap at 10%. The indices are reviewed quarterly.

The STOXX Future Water ESG Index is designed to capture the performance of companies with involvement in the water sector, including water utilities, firms engaged in water treatment and related technologies, as well as those developing equipment and infrastructure essential to water management. STOXX uses a detailed breakdown of companies´ revenues and their patent data to identify companies that have a significant revenue or innovation exposure to the theme. Revenue breakdown utilizes FactSet RBICS and patent data is sourced from EconSight. The index incorporates ESG considerations by applying exclusionary screens on: Norms Based Screening, Human Rights controversy, Environmental Protection controversy, Controversial Weapons, Product Involvement, emissions intensity and energy consumption intensity, ESG rating and SDG 6 Impact Rating.

The STOXX Europe Sustainability Index offers a consistent, flexible and investable representation of the largest European sustainability leaders, i.e. the European top leaders in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria. With a variable number of components, the STOXX Europe Sustainability Index covers stocks from 17 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The EURO STOXX Sustainability Index ex AGTAF offers a consistent, flexible and investable representation of the largest sustainability leaders in the Eurozone, excluding companies which generate revenues from alcohol, gambling, tobacco, armaments and firearms. With a variable number of components, the EURO STOXX Sustainability Index ex AGTAF covers stocks from 11 Eurozone countries: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
