Summary
The STOXX Emerging Markets 50 Index is derived from the STOXX Emerging Markets TMI. With a fixed number of 50 components, the index provides a blue-chip representation of the emerging markets, covering Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Egypt, Greece, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.
Countries with a weighting of less than 2 percent in the STOXX Emerging Markets TMI are eliminated from the further selection process. Components are selected from each country by free float market capitalization and daily equity turnover. The number of components per country is limited to 8. Diversification within the index is further ensured by capping rules.
